Lagos, Nigeria – October 2025:
Global telecommunications brand Lebara has officially begun its recruitment drive in Nigeria as part of preparations for its much-anticipated market entry, scheduled for 2026. The move signals the company’s readiness to compete in Africa’s largest telecom market through its Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) model.
Massive Recruitment Drive
Lebara Nigeria has announced over two dozen job openings across strategic departments, including Finance, Innovation & Partnerships, Brand and Marketing, Customer Experience, Service Delivery, IT Infrastructure, and Network Engineering.

According to listings on the official Lebara Nigeria Careers Portal, the company is seeking experienced professionals to fill key roles such as:
Head of Finance
Head of Innovation and Partnerships
NOC Manager
Core Network Engineer
OSS/BSS and IT Infrastructure Manager
Brand and Marketing Lead
The recruitment exercise marks one of the most significant hiring waves by a new telecom entrant in Nigeria this year, reflecting Lebara’s intent to build a strong local presence ahead of its commercial rollout.
Laying the Groundwork for Launch
In preparation for the launch, Lebara Nigeria has secured a dedicated number series “0724” and achieved full interconnectivity with existing network operators in the country. This ensures that once operational, Lebara customers will be able to communicate seamlessly across all Nigerian networks.
While early reports point to a Q3 2025 rollout, other sources suggest the company may be targeting an official nationwide launch in early 2026. The discrepancy indicates that the company could be phasing its rollout — beginning with pilot operations before expanding nationwide.
Partnerships and Industry Collaboration
Lebara has also announced a partnership with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, aimed at driving digital inclusion and supporting Nigeria’s creative sector. The collaboration will focus on empowering young Nigerians through technology, connectivity, and access to global opportunities.
A New Player in a Competitive Market
Nigeria’s telecom industry is currently dominated by MTN, Airtel, Globacom, and 9mobile. However, with the introduction of the MVNO framework by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), new players like Lebara are expected to bring innovation, competitive pricing, and alternative service models.
As an MVNO, Lebara will lease network infrastructure from existing operators rather than build its own, allowing it to focus on customer experience, affordability, and flexible service plans.
Opportunities for Job Seekers and Consumers
For job seekers, Lebara’s arrival presents an opportunity to join a fast-growing global brand with a focus on technology and digital connectivity. Candidates with backgrounds in telecom operations, customer service, marketing, or information technology stand a strong chance of being part of the pioneering Nigerian team.
Consumers can also look forward to new options once the company launches, as Lebara Nigeria has already opened a number-reservation portal where potential customers can pre-register for their preferred “0724” numbers.
Looking Ahead
Lebara’s entry into Nigeria marks a major milestone in the evolution of the country’s telecom landscape. By blending international experience with local innovation, the company aims to redefine mobile communication for millions of Nigerians — offering more choice, better value, and new digital experiences.
