At the Japan Mobility Show 2025 in Tokyo, Mitsubishi Motors revealed its latest innovation — the Elevance Concept, a fully electric crossover SUV designed to redefine modern adventure and luxury travel. The unveiling marks a new era for Mitsubishi as it blends electrification, cutting-edge technology, and the brand’s signature rugged capability.

A New Symbol of Adventure
Under the theme “Forever Adventure,” Mitsubishi introduced the Elevance as a vehicle that “elevates the quality of time spent inside.” The concept reflects the company’s renewed commitment to creating vehicles that merge sustainability with exploration — embodying both comfort and capability.
Design: Where Luxury Meets Utility
The Elevance Concept carries a design language called “Luxe Adventurer.” Its exterior combines sleek modern styling with robust SUV proportions, presenting a confident stance both on and off the road.
The evolved Dynamic Shield front design, bold lighting signature, and panoramic glass cabin emphasize openness and strength.
Inside, the cabin offers a three-row, six-passenger layout, featuring second-row captain’s chairs that can rotate for face-to-face interaction. The minimalist dashboard stretches across the width of the cabin, with digital displays and camera-assisted visibility enhancing the futuristic feel. The goal: to create a refined, lounge-like atmosphere where passengers can relax, connect, and enjoy the journey.
Powertrain and Technology
Mitsubishi equipped the Elevance Concept with an advanced plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) system. It combines a large-capacity traction battery for everyday electric driving with a high-efficiency gasoline engine compatible with carbon-neutral fuels — extending driving range for long-distance adventures.

The vehicle also showcases Mitsubishi’s renowned Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, utilizing a quad-motor 4WD setup for enhanced stability and off-road performance. This technology allows the Elevance to handle various terrains while maintaining the quiet smoothness of an electric vehicle.
Additionally, the large battery supports external power use, allowing the Elevance to supply electricity to camping trailers, mobile kitchens, or even homes — making it the ultimate companion for outdoor and off-grid living.
A Glimpse into Mitsubishi’s Future
While the Elevance remains a concept, it provides a clear preview of Mitsubishi’s next generation of electrified SUVs. The company’s focus on hybrid-electric systems, advanced all-wheel control, and carbon-neutral technology highlights its strategy to bridge the gap between traditional engines and full electric mobility.
The model also signals Mitsubishi’s intent to strengthen its position in the adventure and lifestyle SUV segment, where its heritage models like the Pajero and Outlander have long stood strong.
Looking Ahead
Mitsubishi has not announced production plans for the Elevance Concept yet, but its design cues and technology are expected to influence upcoming models. As the brand continues to transition toward a fully electrified lineup, the Elevance stands as a bold statement of where Mitsubishi is headed — toward smarter, cleaner, and more connected adventures.
